I had a similar accident in my 99 Sierra. A kid in a 90 Mustang slammed into a Stratus behind me and shoved the Stratus into me. My rear bumper was trashed, hitch was bent, cab on the driver side had small 1/4" dent from the bed corner, the bed was shifted closer to the cab on driver side, and there was a scratch on the tailgate. The kid in the Mustang's insurance paid for the damage. I got everything fixed and got a Sir Mike's roll pan, painted tailgate handle, SS mirrors, painted door handles, and painted front bumper cap, all under the claim.

The road is a 35 mph road. I heard brakes the second I was struck...so my money is on her hitting me at at least 30.
The truck is currently at a good body shop (my opinion), but I'm leery about taking the truck back if the frame's been damaged. I didn't have any chance to really look at the rear of the frame....wont know whats up till next week.
Its tempting to roll pan the truck and trick it out a bit more, but it would have sucked to get rearended without that big *** chrome bumper.

well my 97wt was hit from the right rear side from middle of wheel back. I changed the panel and sprayedit, changed the axle in the rear end housing and bought 4 brand new tires. Now my right side (when seen on level ground, 40psi all 4 tires) looks about 2'' higher than left. everything looks fine tho.

YEAH the colorado isnt nearly as good of a battering ram as the s-10

all that plastic

my old 92 s-10 was lowered and i rearended an explorer truck, i had a smashed headlight and broke the grille shell where the corner goes, there was no body damage to the truck at all, the explorer truck had its bumper smashed up under it so bad, and some damage to the rear qaurter pannels,
ohh and i had a long night at work (pappadeaux) so i wasnt very sharp,
it was like a 5mph collision i idled into him at a light.

bottom line Metal vehicles of old > new plastic cars
