Default Road paint on my truck

Well, I have a black 2007 Silverado, the new style. Our lovely state department painted the lines on the highway and did not bother to put cones or any signs or anything. well, I have white road paint all over the passenger side of my truck. I'm looking for ANY suggestions to get this off without messing up my paint or having to sand it and repaint it. If anyone can help on this, i'd appreciate it. No detailers around here want to mess with it and say they can't do it. They body shops want to sand and repaint it. Thanks in advance.

I know that back when I worked as a detailer at a Lexus dealership we used denatured alcohol on a rag with VERY LIGHT pressure applied to rub paint off the clearcoat on vehicles, whether it be from an issue such as you described or from the car making contact with another car causing paint transfer...

Have you gone to the state about it? The same happened to my Dad in a company truck in Houston and they had it fixed free of charge, but I don't know what they did to fix it.

I would call the State DOT and make a complaint.

Is it just specks of paint? Try a clay bar first. I suggest a clay magic bar from autozone, it's like 10 bucks with clay lube included. It may take some persistence but I bet if you stay at it you will be able to remove it without inflicting any swirls. You could also try Stoners Tarminator if you want. Spray it on, let it dwell for a minute or two (out of the sun of course) then wipe it off with a terry cloth or microfiber towel.

Give it a shot and let us know how it goes.

yes, I contacted them. They stated they will reimburse me, but I need to get this **** taken off now. They will pay me back after it's done, no telling how long though. It's not little specks, only in some areas. It's mostly very thick in most places. I'll try what you guys say, i'm off Friday, I hope it works. This sickens me. Thanks, any other suggestions are welcome too.

I would take it to a detail shop and tell them have at it!
Nothing like a free detail in the end!

I had it happen to mine as well before, I used denatured alchol like mentioned above with light pressure and it worked fine.. This was like 2yrs ago and still no ill effects. I tried a clay bar and it didnt do a damn thing.
