Default Reputable Clear Powder Coaters

Gonna be getting some 219's in 18x9.5 here in a month or so and would like to put something on there to keep em all puuurrty. I am thinking Zoops (cheaper) or the powder coating. Problem I have read about with powder coating is if the place doesn't heat treat it right you can get distortion, which is obviously bad on a wheel. Anyone know a reputable place that does this, preferably in the NY area, but any suggestion is a good one.

I've talked to a guy from Specialized Coatings in Huntington Beach, California and he said that once coated, you never have to polish them again and said it costs around $75 per wheel, but they have to be perfect, cause he doesn't polish wheels.

Yeah, I ran across them when I searched on it, but it's the shipping from NY that would probably kill that deal. I will look into it though.

Really? You are the first person that I have heard mention that. I know people complain about clear paint yellowing, but hadn't heard about zoops.

LS1csherm - thanks, I'll look into that.

The Guys who did my brakes are moving on and not doing powdercoating anymore,
The other place I looked into was ACME Powdercoating in LI. I have know idea if there any good or not. Might want to try this in the eastern forum.

Try Saginaw Powder Coating INC
1014 Hess Ave
Saginaw, MI
1-989-754-8075

Ive had stuff done by them before, and they seem OK on prices.
Theyre a large place, high volume production stuff, but they do have lines that they "Play" on.

Also, a referral from a co-worker .. heres another guy...
He has his own shop, which is supposed to be quite advanced.

Try:
Component Coatings
2550 California, Saginaw, MI 48601
989-746-0891
Dan's much more performance parts oriented, doing CeramaKrome coatings, on just about anything you want. His Chrome stuff is Mirror shine finish.
