If your truck has factory paint use a good paint thinner it will take it right off.factory paint is baked on and the thinner wont hurt the paint at all and then just rewax or what ever you use. good luck

That thought scares me, I have a couple spots of road paint as well. Might try the credit card thing but I worry about paint thinner.

Don't use laquer thinner, acetone,or any other harsh solvent. I recommend using denatured alcohol. We use it at the hanger to remove overspray and such from the lexan and plexiglass windows and windshields. I have used it before on factory finishes on cars and seems to be the safest way to get the job done. Use a soft detail cloth that won't scratch the finish and above all else take it slow so you dont damage the clear. Don't worry about the alcohol it won't hurt anything.

yeah goo gone or goof off or I've used carb and choke cleaner(disclaimer don't use it if your worried about your paint rubbing off) I used it and my clearcoat didn't come off and it worked great I've used it to remove the double sided tape under the molding and badges.

Here in Iowa we use Diesel Fuel to remove tar and paint soaked in a sponge, then wash! Works great

Default yellow paint removal

I worked @ a detail shop for 6 years. Needless to say I ran across this problem more than once. What we used was oven cleaner. The trick is to not let it sit too long, but if it doesn't sit long enough it won't be as effective. Start by scraping off what you can with a plastic scraper. Then spray it on the bottom lip of the panel,(to make sure it won't hurt your paint) let it sit, then hit it with a decent pressure washer. With whatever is left on, use a wet rag with laquer thinner to remove the rest. We used this method with success. You will most likely have to buff the affected area to clean up the minor scratches. Good luck and hope it works out for you.
