Regular Cab Sub/Stereo Setups?
#21
I actually liked them from what I have heard so far. We have been too busy for me to go in there with my arsenal of CDs and really try them out. plus they never sound as good in the sound room as they do in the truck and my Ext.cab is still in the shop. I always take subs home in the truck to test em out on my daily 75mile commute. LOL
They are a bit pricey but for low power handling subs they are pretty good and I was impressed with their low end capability. I have yet to try out any metal or anything really fast and transient though. If you woul dlike I will try and test em out tomorrow and get back to ya.

F8L, I already have an OLD *** Alpine MRV-F401 2/3/4 channel (50X4/100X2) that I was thinking about using on the subs. I have the smaller F301 running my mids and they sound pretty good. I plan on transferring the amps over to my daily driver if they (the amps AND the Saturn
) last that long.
Will that be enough to run to semi-decent 12s?

Just stick with low wattage subs. They will generally have a higher Sensitivity rating and will use your Alpines wattage more effectively. Plus low wattage subs are usually pretty shallow which means a thinner box.

Kicker Comps, JL Audio W1v2s, Diamond Audio DS3s, etc will handle your power pretty well.

hey f8l--man if you could test them out and see how they do that would be great! i listen to a variety of music so i think you should be able to get a pretty good idea of what i am talking about. now the shop i do all of my business with said i could get them for like $135 a sub. does that sound about right?

Diehard, That sounds close to what retail used to be but I think it is closer to $140 now. I'll check for ya tomorrow. Too bad you don't live closer or I would try and hook up my truck friends. LOL
Scream, call me at the shop tomorrow and I'll see where you can get a good price on subs from a dealer.

i made the box 8 in deep so the internal depth was 6.50in
dont mind those wires i have since hid them

Here is another option for the slim subs. Don't know how they sound or perform though.
