Default questions about roll pans

What do you do about the spare tire lowering device(the part that you have to slide the rod into and turn to get the spare down). How much does the stock bumper weigh?

Sir Micheals pans come with a place to slide in the piece to lower the rear tire. Others usually just allow you to do it through the window/ open area behind the LP. Sir Micheals, lund and street scene usually have a hole or spot specifically for that use. A stock rear pumper isnt ALOT of weight, but its nothing to take for granted when your taking it off. My guess is about 55lbs at the most? anyone know this for sure?

Remember to order the spare tire relocator at the same time, or just eliminate the spare and bumper and winch all at the same time and remove 120lbs or so from your truck.

The only thing about removing that 120lbs, is that you will loose alot of traction because the back is too light. If only you could remove that weight from the front then it would be more beneficial.

You mean I can't have the spare in the stock location with a roll pan? Looks to me like it would fit just fine.

When I get around to doing my pan, I'll be making a holder for the bed, similar to the fabtech ones.

with the stock spare tire its possible, but you will have no room for a hidden hitch because the tire will rub or be too close to the back of the roll pan. I just got a stock f-body tire on my spare now so that i could fit the hidden hitch.
