Default Progress on the GMC

very slowly making some progress here due to all the "hit and run" damage to the vehicle over the years. Finally getting some things repaired. I recently put on a new front bumper. A new bumper pad is about to go to the paint shop to be done up. Added clear turn signals today. The old damaged rear chrome bumper is about to go in the dumpster. I picked up a WT rear bumper, it's at the shop getting painted pewter. Still looking for 04 up silvy tails. Also I added escalade handles several months ago. In search of a new/VG condition front grill, mine is peeling the chrome badly/faded, and looking to add a billet grille.

All in all, still needs a ton of work, but I'm pleased with the progress and how it's doing given the age (12 years) and miles (180k). Long terms plans include a 4/6 drop, billet 22s vs. factory 22s, HD hood.

I'm actually pretty upset with my camera, it's old, but I've never been happy with it. The Corsa tips really are outstanding, I wish I could capture their shine that you see in person on them.

The clears are off ebay, around $25 or so. They're actually pretty good quality too.

If it was in state I'd actually probably buy that bed from you. Mine's good some areas of dents I need to get fixed anyways.

Jeez, looking at those pics make me realize how bad I need the drop and some new wheels. In short time though....about 6 months of so it should all be done.

BTW John, what's the best way in your experience to get the cuts for the HD hood around the headlights spot on? I discussed with my fabricator/bodyman that we would bolt on the HD hood and base the cuts where the fender and top of the grill bar are. He was confident that he could do the hood no problem, but my main thing is I need both sides to be symmetrical. I've seen a lot of pictures online of these custom jobs and most are good, but some are crap with the cuts obviously being asymmetrical. I'm wondering if there's a good way to make a template from the factory hood to ensure the curvature of the cuts is symmetrical and proper.

Should be done in a few weeks. Also, got a brand new OEM grill to go on (no more faded and peeling chrome!) and a brand new oem bumper pad. Also, I have a new colormatch rear bumper going on. But the old bumper is a pain to get off because the metal side braces in the bumper need to come off as they end up hitting the base of the bed if you try and pull the bumper out. Since everything is rusted to hell in there, I'm just going to cut the damn things off when I get time.
