not the grille the insert piece, i cant find any trucks online with a black grille and the billet inserts, every grille i can find is either chrome, chrome, or chrome

Get the grille powdercoated black & install it. It will look just fine. I've got the polished insert/chrome grille setup myself, and after 11 years of Alaska it's looking a bit ragged. But I still think its the best looking setup out there for the 99-02 trucks.

The polished billet insert in your black grille will look terrible IMHO.

I did this in about 45 seconds, so don't hate. Gives you an idea:

I personally think it would look good with fog lights and chrome tow hooks.

ak i think im gonna have to agree with ya man, now since i see how it looks, that with the black grille just does NOT go...static i think you n ak have the idea for what to do...idk about the powdercoating deal since im low on money, mabey ill just mix up some more semi gloss and shoot the billet inserts to match the grille...thad prob look decent, pics a little old too, not that it matters i color matched the bowtie also...n slp, thanks man i appreciate it, and for 45 sec worth of work...i found out what it would look like and that got the job done so thanks man! as for the chrome...i cant do it...i dechromed everything on my truck, and thought mabey the insert would look cool...but now i know what i gotta do, and as you suggested, ill be ordering fogs too, and a set of 8k's for those also, thanks a lot for all the help guys!
