Default painting the interior questions

i am wondering how some of you painted the soft parts, like the interior door arm rest/handles , grab handles on the roof and door panels. most of the parts are hard plastic whihc will be easy , btu the soft parts looks like they need glass or something to make them firm so the paint wont crack. any ideas??

I've seen it done before. I'm pretty sure you have to use a hardener. I believe it's like a vinyl hardener or something to that tune.

The vinyl used on the oh **** handle and the armrests will get a spongy feel when sanded well; then all is needed is some resin and hardener and you're good to go. I guess you could mat it or use kitty hair but I've seen it done the way I described and it seems to work well as it gives you a good surface to adhere the resin to.

Or you can scuff and then prime and paint like normal if you use a lot of flex additive. Never used any flex agent so I can't comment on that
