Default Painting Guage needle question?????

For anyone who has done this mod I have a few questions. I've read all the threads on clearing the gauge needles and people write that if you want them colored just paint the backside of the needle after you remove the orange paint. Now this is where my question is. The pictures I have seen of the needles after the orange paint is removed look like the needles are a frosted white look. If you painted the backside red would the color show good or would you have a faint red color needle showing thru and at night would they light up? If anyone can help and maybe post some pictures of this mod I would appreciate it.

Thanks

i remember seeing those needles as appearring kind of opaque too. i would think that they would not show a brilliant red, but i think it would still look good. i say go for it.

The reason they are frosted looking is because the paint has been scraped off. You have to try and buff the back side to get the more brilliant color on them. I tried it and didn't like it. Clear in the daytime sucked!!!
