Default Painting Emblems

ive seen that some people on here have painted the red on the GMC emblems black, my mom just bought a 05 yukon today and i wanted to do that to it, how do i go about doing this?? thanks.

i did mine back in the spring. take the entire front grille off. then take the bowtie off. you can see tabs on the back of the bowtie, just pinch them in and the whole bowtie should come out. then i sanded it down. the finer grit paper the better. then i used a couple coats of primer. then about 3-4 coats of paint. then about 3 coats of clear coat. all the paint i used came from walmart or an autoparts store in a spray can. be patient doing this. wait til each layer dries. i tried putting mine on too soon because i couldn't wait to see how it turned out and i put a nice big finger print in the middle of it so i had to scrape off all the paint and start all over again. i had it looking perfect too.

I painted the bowtie on mine before I got the billet one...I used pretty much the same method as Keuka, except after it all dried, I put 3M clear tape over it to protect it from stone chips and all the salt and crap us Northerners have to deal with.
