Default Painted headlights....

Is this possible for our trucks?

https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=212631

Does anyone has an idea of the process? Would the headlights need to be cleared first? I may have to follow Nine Ball on this one.

so you just paint the chrome part inside the lights? For me, it would be too much of a pita to take the lights apart...but I'm lazy.

Yeah, just don't paint the reflector areas though or you won't have much light at night.

The lights aren't that hard to get apart. Some friends cleared my Sierra lights for me:

What part would you paint? Would you paint it body color, or black?

Ok guys, i didnt get my clears apart....without breaking one of them. I assume it just needed more time because the part that broke off left an open space where i could touch the glue and it was real soft. im gonna try it again with the other light but let it sit longer or maybe turn up the heat. I had it set at 175 degrees. If anyone else tries it let me warn you that, at least with my light, the plastic was about twice as brittle. It cracked using my hand but it was coming apart. If anyone else has the magic solution let me know.

I just did my 04 lights..just wanted to clear them. Holy crap, that sucked. I mangled one headlight. Hope it seals okay. Just put them back on the truck.

I ended up not liking the look with the amber pieces gone, so I tinted them black. (the amber pieces) Looks sweet on a black truck!!

This is just a warning though.....They are not easy to come apart with messing them up. The directions were WAY easier. Headlights sucked.

I see some black painted type headlights on ebay all the time. It looks similiar to what you guys are talkin about.
