hey man you could buy a 97 GMC grill with the billit insert already installed, and it would make a world of difference to the front end of your truck. 97 GMC grill look very good, you could order a aftermarket one with billit insert pretty reasonable.

I agree buy set of Sport Mirrors for that truck, I saw the manual set on Ebay a while back selling around $40.

you need a cutter, to use on the scratches.. some type of wool cloth will work best, then you are going to get a polish with either a wool cloth, or a sponge to put on after you use your cutter. the cutter will get rid of your scratches, then the polish will fix the marks you leave on your paint from the cutting.

do that. also, clay bar that beyotch!... wash it, cut it, polish it, clay bar it, then wax it.

do it all by hand, you will LOVE your results, that will give you the best you are going to get out of your paint you have. plan on spending around 4-6 hours on it with the condition your truck is in.

What is cutting and you you have a link on where to do it?

As for 92 GMC you need to fix the front headlights. Get some new clear ones off ebay and seal them with clear silicone as soon as you get them. Go with the machined Impala wheels and a good set of 275/45/R17 (I could be mistaken in the sidewall height size) tires. For the Clay bar I would suggest using Mothers Kits (It's about $13). I was very happy with the result last weekend when I used it. Look for a pair of sport mirrors to get those clunkers out of there. I would color match the door handles and use a billet grill that goes in the place of the factory plastic one. I would replace your interior pieces with all black leather ones, I am not a fan of how old chevy's matched the inside to the outside. I think I even saw a Z28 dashboard put into an older truck like that. Slap some tint and a color matched front bumper with fog light cut outs on it and you have a good start for a great looking truck. Sorry if that was all a bunch of rambling

If you get bored and have a bunch of money Go with a Sir Michael's roll pan and have it molded in. When you get a bunch of money saved do a 98 Escalade front end conversion and upgrade to a nice set of 20's

get a newer grille...something like 98 grille is what i have on my 88, some euro corners and side markers, billet grille, smoothie bumper, some cheap mirrors off ebay. i got some for $20shipped for mine and they're blinker mirrors. thats what i like best about those old trucks is they're so cheap to make look good. you could prolly get everything i have listed(minus the bumper) for a little over $200
