Default New Wheels + Detailing

I spent the better part of yesterday detailing the truck after I put the new wheels on.

The wheels are Billet Specialties 18x8 w/ 5.5" backspacing. The tires are some used tires I picked up for cheap, they're 255/55/18.

These wheels were actually more expensive than a lot of 20's, but I wanted that "Hot Rod" look instead of the "bling bling" look.

The wheels are polished aluminum, and I also had them clear-coated by Budnik's coating shop, Specialized Coatings in Huntington Beach, CA.

The drop is a 2/4, but I bought the truck with it already on there. I really hate the way it sits--a lot lower in the front. I have a DJM 4/6 kit that's sitting in the garage. I'll be putting it on very soon.

Class wheels! Good Job!

Does that coating shop also polish them?

Nice wheels! Im curious to hear how the coating holds up. I just polish mine up every couple of weeks and Im always impressed to see how they come out. It takes about 2 hours though.
BTW I like the way the trucks sits. I did a 2/3 on mine and sometimes it looks like the rear sits a little lower than the front. Now that is irritating. Maybe its just that the rear still has the stock shocks

The coating shop doesn't polish, but there are several polishing shops in the area that do great work--Mag Masters in Santa Ana is where I usually go. These particular wheels had already been polished by Billet Specialties.

See, to me, that is an absolutel nightmare. I researched considerably about wheel coatings, and was very pleasantly surprised to find out that the premiere wheel coating company in the country is only 15 mins down the road from me. The instructions for the coating are "hose down, wipe off." It takes me 10 mins to clean my wheels, instead of 2 hours.

I just rinse my rims off every week with water and they turn out just like the day i got them.
Yes, that's exactly why I got this coating.

Must get wheels coated NOW!!!!!!! How does the coating hold up on the tire machine...and I'm assuming they coat the entire wheel?
