candying tail lights
#1
well, i spent a little bit of time on a set of clear tails i had laying around. i am not happy with how they look and plan on stripping them down and starting over. i didn't use testers transparent candy apple red paint. i used an off the shelf candy apple red paint to see what it would look like. here goes some pics.

this is after sanding it and applying one coat of the candy red paint.

this is the second coat of paint.
after three coats of paint and one clear coat this is what they look like now.

i have the reverse light taped off. i am gonna go and wet sand each coat of clear and then see what they look like. these are a far cry from the ones in the other thread.

well, after all, it's friday night, i have my son here so i can't go and party like most folks. so i had nothing but time on my hands. anyway, they actually don't look that bad with a few coats of clear, but no way they will ever see my truck. i want to see how good i can get them to look then sand'em back down to clear. tbh, if i painted some smoke color on top of these they would look damn good.
