Default New plans for the ride

I have a 2000 standard cab short bed 2wd 1500. I am thinking about going Old School with it. I am going to drop it (some how) take of my chrome wheel covers and paint them red. I am going to go meet my body guy this weekend and see how much it will cost for a new paint job. I am thinking satin black. I like the primer look but don't want it to fade. I have alot of plans for it and think it will look good. Whats everyones opinion on my new plan?

Sounds pretty cool man. I was wanting to go the same route with mine except I was gonna put some old school steelies with wide whitewalls on mine. Dupont has a line of paint out called hot rod black that is intended for the satin suede look of primer but holds up as well as a basecoat/clearcoat system. I think it'd look good flat black with some hot rod style white and red pinstriping. If you go this route, definitely get some pics.

I always go for an "old school" look. Sounds great to me!
If I ever painted mine I wouldn't mind a black primer job and red steel wheels with whitewalls.....

I like the idea of the DuPont hot rod black. It would even look good with colormatched wheels and do some cool pinstriping.

I love it man, I've been wanting to do mine satin black for a long time....maybe with a retro pinstripe or something like that.

sounds like an awesome plan. i've thought about getting rallye wheels for my truck instead of 18"s or 20"s. however they will be heavy. i love old school looks too, something different u know.
