Leaks in my truck

make sure the grommet in the door jam that the speaker wires etc run through is 'clicked' in all the way. This is the large rubber grommet with the white platic clip inside......after I installed my stereo it wasn't pushed in all the way and there was a slight crack in the top and it didn't seal.....when it rained, all the water from the weather stripping directed the water flow right into that SOB and I literally had puddles under my carpet.........it took tons of rags and towels to dry it out.

this has happened to me three times, ive taken it back to the dealer twice and they have fixed it but each time about 4-5 months later it starts doing the same thing again. its not a big deal but it is just a hassle, i remember they said somthing about a grommet or somthing being the problem but i dont remember the specifics

It might be coming around the door jam. There is a plastic deflector made by GM that goes in on the bottom of the door and behind the door panel. Check with GM on service bulletins related to your problem. Mine was doing the same thing, installed the plastic piece and no problems any longer.

mine is wet on the driver's side floor board. it's like the whole thing gets damp. i took mine to a dealer and they thought it was a plastic panel that i was missing that was allowing water to come in. then it started to get wet again and i took it back and they said that there was a hole in the firewall where the steering shaft goes into the engine bay. they resealed it for me but i don't know if it helped out or not. my carpet is still damp but not all that bad. does anyone have any problems/remedies like this?
