Default Help with rim size/ rubbing issues.

I have a 01 2500HD with the torsion bars turned up to level it out in the front, I am running Nitto 285/75/16's on the stock rims, I was wondering if I could run 17x8 rim with maybe some 285/70/17 and not have any rubbing issues?

I'm runnin 275/60/17s and they aren't even close. So you could probly cram em in there. Hopefully before long i'll be runnin 260/45/20s or something like that.

Default tire and wheel size

i have a set of 305/75 16 on stock rims on my 02 2500hd, torsion bars turned all the way up with 1 1/2 blocks in the rear. they do not rub, but i had to crank up the torsion bars all the way, and the blocks in the back to level it.

It depends on the offset of the new 8" wide wheel. The wheel will make the tire have a wider footprint and depending on the backspace, rub the valance and the rear part of the wheel opening. The factory wheel has roughly 4 3/4" - 5" backspace. Going wider, you should atleast have that....up to about 6". H2 wheels are 8.5" wide and have a 5 1/2" backspace and are a very affordable upgrade. You would be fine with those tires on the H2 wheels and not have to adjust the bars anymore than you already have. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info turbo595, I have looked at the H2 wheels they look pretty sweet on the HD's, what center cap do they use in place of the H2 cap? I couldn't tell which one it is or if you just use the one off of the oem HD wheel.

Yes, the one off the HD wheels. Some have had to cut the nubs off the back of the center cap to get more threads to hold them on.
