Do you need to buff your vehicle or are you talking about using it to apply waxes/polishes to your vehicle? I use a Porter Cable random orbit and all Meguiars waxes/polish. If you just want to keep your paint looking clean, and don't have serious oxidation of your paint, you'll be fine with the model polisher you have. If it is serious oxidation, you might want to step up to a more professional model polisher. I don't think you can go wrong with Meguiars NXT wax either, give your truck one or two coats of it and it will look better then new. Keep us posted!

Mequiars is the best products. Go slow and try a small flat area first.
