I just recently purchased a pair of the new silverado tails...(all red). I thought it would be easier to wire into my 99 GMC wiring harness...i was wrong. Im going back tommorow to grab the wiring harness off the 04 silverado at the wrecking yard....will that new harness just plug and play right into my old 99 gmc?

Stock > hacked up wiring harness

 

or you jsut modified the tailights to accept the factory wiring...15 mins and a dremel tool....add to 194 sockets and your done...

 

Just installed them with a new harness......damn they look good.

what are you guys talking about. you can't just plug and play 04 taillights in a 02 and earlier without modifying something?

 

Heres a pic of them.....and no you cant just put 04 tails on a 02 and earlier without redoing the wiring harness or getting a 04 harness like i did

nope, theres 4 bulbs on the 03+s and 3 bulbs on 99-02 chevys/99-06 gmcs, you gotta buy the wiring harness for 03+

or you can buy the tails on here or ebay or something and just buy the harness's from GM
