Did you just paint over the chrome, or did you have to sand it off or strip it?

We sanded the chrome on the bumper and grill with 150 grit sand paper and a DA sander. Just to rough it up. The plastic, we just roughed it up with a scratch pad type thing. Then sealed, primed and painted.
