Getting closer to painting the hood

Youre gonna want to do an orange pad (heaviest cut) with your strongest polish. if youre patient enough to order another product, Id highly recommend Menzerna Super Intensive Polish (SIP) with an orange pad. With the PC on setting 1 or 2, spread the polish evenly, then immediately turn it up to 5.5 or 6 and work the polish in going very slow and only using probably 5lbs of pressure on the machine. Youll probably make 3-4 passes (putting more polish on the pad in between). Do this until you cant see anymore sanding marks, then go to a light cut/final polish on the white pad to get rid of any haziness left behind by the SIP. then go strait to you Last Step Process(LSP) sealant, wax, machine glaze, etc. Good luck!

Yeah take your time with the buffing, i wetsanded my hood and about 15 touchups on my truck then went back and buffed it out.
first time around, i didnt put enough weight on the buffer( i was scared) and then i used a glaze instead of a polish then waxed it, it took about a day looked alright but sanding marks were still there
second time a week later went back with heavier pad worked the sanded areas real good got some meguires polish spent along time making sure to realy compound it in then waxed again came out alot better, it was a much longer day! and now 3 months later its still looking good!
take your time and of course have fun!!!!!

So far this combo is working pretty good. Went and found the 3m compund... says good for taking out 1200 to 2000 sanding. Couple passes with it and the pad in front of it. Switch over to the Meguiars and pad in front of it for a couple passes. It's really easy so far.

It's by no means perfect guys. Some of the little dusties you can see directly in the light. Look like the little nail heads you see in drywall or something. I started to work on them but couldn't find them when I'd go to touch them, so I said the heck with it.
I wish I could get a good picture in the right light to show the depth.... the color and metal flake are gorgeous.
