I finally ordered my Escalade handles, and they should arrive at my house later today or tomorow. Who all has installed these themselves? Just wondering if anyone has written out instructions for the install, and just how hard it might be. Any tips would be great! Thanks guys

 

Mine are coming later this week. I did not get the Escalade handles, just the smooth painted ones, but same install. JSmith has a good write up on his web page.

bout damn time you bought them Kurt. I've been hearing that out of your mouth for ages.
Its not too hard of an install with the right tools.
Just have to be careful and not drop the bolts into the door or cut your hands on the window track! When are you planning on doing it? I could probably give you a hand.

Wish I could help you do it, but just one thing, the metal bars that run vertically have sharp edges so be careful. I got a bunch of little cuts all over my hands and arms, didn't even notice em or felt em until I was done.

I have a tip. Instead of removing the plastic water cover and having to glue it back down, I just made two cuts over the opening like a + just big enough to reach my arm in. It saves a lot of time and if you ever change them again you will be glad. Do it at your own risk though but I haven't had any noise or water problems at all.

 

Two other tools that will make it much easier: A long extension for your ratchet (at least 6") and a magnetic pick up tool. That alone will save you much time from having to dig around in the bottom of the door to fetch a dropped nut. Good Luck!!!
