I think it looks pretty good. We saw a truck at HRP last sunday that had the painted tails. The truck looked just like 01thunder's but it didn't have the cowl hood and the guy was Hispanic and I was talkingto him. He said a local shop painted the tails for him they did a A+ job.

I once read an article where a guy used sandpaper, clear coat, and model car window tint that comes in a spray can to do his tails. I wanna do it to my 3rd brake light. I think It'll look good with the black truck.

I did the same as blksilverado did, but i did my third brake light, and i did my tailights, but i taped off the reverse light part, and sprayed the rest with VHT, and it turned out sweet, and i still have backup lights, which i needed, since my windows are all tinted. I'm pulling them off soon here, and sanding them smooth, to get off all the factory numbers, and retinting them and clearing them real nice.

vht nightshades seems to be the product of choice but i can't find any around here and it cost about 20 bucks for the product and shipping. ebay has been the cheapest place i have found it so far.

any problems with cops after doing this to lights? i have a grey silverado and was thinking about putting 2 coats on my tails and 4 on my 3rd brake. do yall think that would look decent on a grey truck? i know it looks pimp on black because ive seen 01thunders lights.
