Default Damn tailgate straps

I was at Walmart getting some dog food last night. I got the food and checked out, and went to my truck. I hit the tailgate handle and let her fall. She went too damn far, into my roll pan infact. The paint is all scuffed up now. Both tailgate straps popped at the same time

DId you get the recall in the mail? I received my recall about 3 months ago. It said they didn't have the straps in stock. They said that they would send another letter when the were in stock.

GM had a recall on all their tailgate straps from like 2000 to 03.

Go to your dealer and make them replace them!!!

I had one just break on my 00 GMC. Went to the dealer and they said the replacement stainless cables are not available yet. They gave me the old galvanized style to hold me over till they come in. What the hell is taking so long, Make the F@#$*n cables already!!!!

I hear you. I got the recall notice months ago. I had one break with 4 kids sitting on it the other day. The more I think about it the more pissed I get.
