Tools needed: small flathead screwdriver, 1 torx head socket (T20), a 7mm socket and a 10 mm socket, and extra set of hands dosen't hurt either!

Start by using the flathead screwdriver to pry the cover off the door lock handle.

Next pry the cover off the door handle

Then pry the cover off the door panel screw(located towards the rear of the panel)

Use your fingers to pry the front panel tab off. Its a little tought to get going by keep working on it you'll get.

Use a 7mm socket to loosen the bolt located by the door lock

Use the torx head socket the remove the door panel screw

Don't forget the bolt hiding by the arm rest!!!

Next use your finger to pop off the mirror cover

Then you will kinda lift straight up and out to pull the whole door panel out. But DON"T try to take it all the way off just yet. You need to unplug all the control wires!!!!!
Don't forget the small light at the bottom of the panel!

Don't worry with where they come from they only go back in one way.
Next remove the foam from the mirrow access hole and use a 10 mm socket to remove the nuts holding the mirror on.

Then pull the mirror out fromt he outside snaking the wires through the access hole.

Remove the foam "gasket" from the stock mirror and transfer it to your new mirrors, and just reverse the steps listed!

No more dumbo ear mirrors!!!

i dont understand why you removed the whold door panel just to get the mirror off and on??? is your door panel differnent form mine? the mirrors look great BTW. for some reason i think the cal-vu's look too small on the ecsb's and the ear mirrors fit perfectly.

 

you don't have to take it "all" the way off but most of the way to unplug the factory harness for the power mirrors.

 

Yeah, liked Big Ed mentioned on the 99-02's the mirror connections is right there all you do is unscrew and unplug and take off. But on the 03+ is quite a hassle the mirror connections run all the way to the power buttons switch. I was surprised myself becuase when I swapped out my stock power mirrors to the OEM auto dim with the LED trun signals I took off the door panel to get to the connection itself.

I tought it was going to be like the 99-02's but I was like, "where the hell do you unplug it from?" Now I know.

dumbo ears? know what you mean. Ls have mickey mouse ears. those new mirrors look great and are on my short list too. the only thing i don't like is that they don't fold back...or at least that's what i read about them.

 

All that BS was worth it, they look awesome!
