wondering if I can turn them off on my 00 Silv? thanks for any input

 

Depends, if your truck was built in canada then no you cant. Otherwise you have to hit the dome override button 4 times and that disables it. But, you have to do that everytime you turn the key.

99-00 does not have dome over ride... you need to keep you ebrake one click down to make them non auto
01-02 you tap to dome over ride button a couple times

to make them permanently non auto you must splice the sensor and put in a resistor not sure what size off the top of my head

 

My 2000 has a dome override button.

 

Yep my girlfriend's 2000 has dome override by pressing the button 3 times as well.

 

yep, it's only 99's and trucks BUILT FOR Canada (if it's built in Canada for US sales it will disable)

 

haha well my truck was built in illinois so... dome override? but only every time I turn the key? and the only way to permanently go away without seeing my e-brake like flash constantly I have to put a resistor in or just cut the wire for the auto on? anyone able to walk me thru the once over to disable it?

 

any truck built for US sales will be able to disable them with the dome override, except 1999 year models. An easier alternative is just remove the bulbs
