I was pretty close to buying one in 2001 and I think it was something like 21-22K for a regular cab. They were offering a couple of rebates at the time but there's no way any version was stickered over 30K.

I wonder if this is more of an indicator of the oil quality that Dodge is using. I think you have to be real careful of what conventional oil you run nowadays. I had a buddy that had to replace an engine after 60K despite the fact that he religiously changed his oil at 3K at those quick change places. The cheap oil separated and sludged up his oil system prematurely

I will not name the dealer... but one of the dealers I purchased a Dodge truck at used one brand and weight of oil for everything... if you got your oil changed there or just topped off coming off the truck in make ready.... Rotella straight 40w..... the had 55 gal drums of it and it did not matter what oil you specified you got the Rotella.

Now I am using the Amsoil 0w30 2000 series full synthetic with expended oil changes, put it in at 12,000 and now have 56,500. I run the truck HARD!!!! I only wish they would come out with the 0w20 in the 2000 series, I would go to that..

Anyday the wuss is in the St. Lou' area, I'll add it to list.

DC recommends you run the thin oil so you can tell the gas engines form the diesel,Right?

Not much longer now..Startup and Idle
This video was from wednesday night, before the hurricane went through, cam sounds pretty good for how small it is. The intercooler and all the pipes are connected now, smt6 is in as well as the low boost tune. It's all finished except the rest of the tuning (high boost and dialing it in) hemifever and I will be doing when we get there. They're cleaning it up, adding the billet parts and doing the finishing touches now - I just have to find time to get there now LOL

Basically if you spend 10k your engine will sound good and not have to use thin oil? ?

Colt
Over on the DWT you and Desteny are so impressed that a turbo hemi 4x4 runs low 14s after the guy blew it up and rebuilt with some high dollar parts,so he has already spent a pile. You Dodge guys have no reaction to a chevy guy with an excab 4x4 radix cam heads and converter runs consistant low 12s on stock heads and bottom end. Why?

Low 12s on a stock bottom end.I didn't think the stock bottom ends were that strong.
