Default Silverado 5.3 vs 04 hemi ram 1500

ok i have a 2005 5.3 with free ram air mod and a custom catback, me and my boy with an 04 hemi with intake, exhaust, superchip with 335/22 tires ran from a 20 mph roll..and we are both ecsb

we lined up. i thought i was goin to get smoked..i left mine in 1st and so did he. he hooked 3 times and we both went..
1st gear was even... i was amazed! Then when my chitty 4l60 shifted he pulled about a 1/4 truck lengh, his second gear pulls hard.. we went to 85 with me at his bumper.. then he said he was only giving it 3/4 throttle.

what do u guys think? im gettin my vette servo installed tomorrow and we will race again. i cant wait for my tune.

i love my truck..

it makes your 1/2 shift a lil more firmer.

The servo doesn't make your shift firmer, it applys more pressure to the band to keep it from slipping, what you need is a stall, shift kit and servos. The stall will get you out of the hole alot quicker and make it harder for him to catch up. If you really wanna kick his ***, Put a simple single nozzle wet kit on maybe a 75 shot like 500 bucks. You can run a small shot like that without tuning and run it all day without burning up your motor. That will really **** off your friend.

not on a small wet shot like that. you can safely run up to a 100 shot with out tuning as long as its a wet kit. Dry kits need tuning with them to make up for the more fuel that is needed. Wet kit is already adding more fuel. Ive ran juice on a bunch of my vehicles before without tunning, Just don't get too carried away with how big of a shot you go. IMO wet kit is they only way to go!

I don't think he was at 3/4 throttle. He's feeding you a line. I had an 05' GMC ecsb with a 5.3 and the same mods as you, but I didn't have a servo, I had the Hypercrapper. I raced my buddies hemi ecsb three times, and was dead even with him, of course he was stock except for a CAI. The third race, I beat him by a bumper. I guess the hemi's get heat soaked.

a tune for the newer trucks is a must if you want to race anything imo. the throttle body just seems to not want to respond very well until you tune out all the traction control and torque managment crap. when you shift the tb sometimes closes and the timming gets retarded which is why he pulled so far ahead on the shift. its not just the trans shifting crapy.
