Default Engine swap in a 5.9 R/T???

I'm debating on swapping out the 5.9R/T in favor of a carb'd 440ci.
I know where a couple 440 are readily available, but really no nothing on mopar engines, what tranny's they'll bolt up to, motor mounts, headers, etc...

Plus, I would still need to pass emmissions. just wondering if anybody has any input on this?

i dont know the most about mopars but i can tell you that the 5.9 360 you have cant be a very potent motor with small bolt ons, programming, headers, intake, cam etc for the money you'll have in converting it to a 440

I say to stay wit the 360 because the 440 weighs a lil more., just build the **** out of that 360 it will run as good and be lighter.

I just don't like the fact that in order to really dive into the Magnum, you have to buy a aftermarket PCM like Fast or something.

I'll probably just keep the 5.9 and pick away at it.

You could always convert the 360 to a carb'd motor.

Hehe, I wonder if my gas mileage would actually improve with a Holley DP on it. I bet it would.

No chance of the mileage going up when switching to a carb but it would be easier to mod. It really depends what ya want to do w/ the truck. If ya drive it alot, and I'm guessing ya do since it has to pass emissions, then just leave the 5.9 in there. There are a ton of bolt-ons (as far as Mopar engies are concerned ) for the 5.9. As far as going w/ an aftermarket EFI system that would lend well towards possibly adding boost. .

Just do a 408 and then FAST or custom burnt PCM )or carb) and add boost/spray on top, if you go all the way single digit 1/4s could be yours....
