That is exactly who I thought it was at first! Cats are the worse diesels to prime and get started. I hope you have good batteries and a good battery charger.

Sorry if this comes across a little blunt, but someone has to say it... this is the stupidest idea I've seen in a long time. you're going to ruin a damn nice truck. in for the failure

I would just rebuild the 6.0 and find an old 80's model 4x4 to dump the dump truck motor into. they are a dime a dozen and cheaper to ruin.

what's the saying??? you get what you pay for. if you had to sell the truck one day with that old *** diesel with none of the electronics working correctly, how much do you think the truck would sell for? at least you could get a couple grand as it sits blown up right now.

Yeah once they're primed after reassembly. Before that though it is a pain

I bought an entire wrecked 2005 2500HD CCSB 4x4 LT Duramax truck for $5800.

Swapping in the Cat engine is going to significantly decrease the value of your truck, plus it's either going to be a hack job to get the electronics to work correctly, or they just won't work at all. Either way, say goodbye to your resale value. Duramax swapped vehicles can be made to work and appear factory, and will actually increase your resale value if done right.

To each his own, and I hope you can make it work. Just doesn't make sense to me.
