Any reason you didn't want to do the easier 6bt cummins/nv4500(or nv5600/g56) swap either?
Only weighs close to big block weight and still decent power.
There was a guy on here that swapped a 4bt into a tahoe, might have insight on hooking up for gauges, dont think he messed with using the OEM gauges though.

My buddy is a diesel tech for caterpillar. He says those motors were also used in fishing boats. Says they are slow and eat fuel but could tow anything imaginable.
I think its a cool swap. Doesn't mean its practical but its definitely cool

Seriously...why not a Duramax/Allison? More power, less weight, less work, electronics are compatible, tons of aftermarket support, can still tow anything you can throw at it....unless you enjoy making everything 10x more difficult?
