If they're original, you've got to heat the ends and melt the plastic sealer out, the just press out, press in, and install the clips. Not hard at all...

Well I think the last "big piece" is on its way

Ordered a 10" Circle-D billet 3500 converter. And its going to bolt up to my existing flexplate situation. So no conversion stuff there.

Ill be chasing down the right slip yoke and U joint today so MAYBE I can start going back together with this thing sooner than later.

Also considering pulling the front clip off so I can set the motor/trans in together. Undecided.

Im surprised you didn't go with the triple disk. I thought locking up the converter really helped out with turbos?

The way my lockup settings are in HPT, I never put much demand on a clutch. My converter locks up only in 4th gear, above 55mph and less than 50% throttle, roll into the throttle and it unlocks and you're back in the power and boost... And it will never lock on the track.

And I personally HATE how the truck feels in boost with a locked converter. I didn't feel like a multi-disk was warranted honestly given the situation.

It can give you a better MPH cause it loads it more.
But can you imagine the stress it sees tryin to lock up with over 500ft/tq goin thru it?

I thought you lock up the stock 80e converter on a regular basis?

when i first put the 80E in, it was locking up on the stock tune.. but i changed that cause i didnt want any transmission problems. mine locks up under part throttle and in boost sometimes.. but Bens never locks up unles he is cruising.

how much of a SOTP difference did you notice with it locked compared to unlocked? Reason I ask is this could influence my choice to go triple disk or not.
