Well the rear suspension is officially overhauled... New V6 leaf springs (removed overloads again) new shocks, new 3/4" poly bumpstops, and all new grade 8 bolts in everything.... The axle will be bolted back in today hopefully and ill be able to put wheels back on it...

These jackstands are beginning to look too "at home" under my truck...

I need to start looking around for someone to shorten and high speed balance my driveshafts... Besides shafts and a converter, my 80E conversion is all but done.

Also picked up a mildly built '03 4L80E to swap in, I may stock a fresh valve body and solenoids/shift kit in there just to be on the safe side.

Neapco N3R-3-9161X and Precision Premium #534 or Precision Super Strength #235

Or

2500HD yoke and Precision #447 U joint if you wish to use oem yoke. But end up with a bastard joint.

All that should bolt right up to an ECSB 2wd.

So all I need is the factory 2500HD slip yoke and conversion U joint? I don't mind the bastard U joint really, as long as I can get a few of them to stockpile. That's one less thing on my list

I haven't completely dug through the conversion write up threads to be honest and this swap is new territory for me I still plan on having my driveshafts balanced... They've been chunked out from under this thing at high rates of speed a few times since they were balanced last time

Looks like the main thing left is to order a converter and get the last of the details nailed down...

Nonnie- I may be closer now than I originally thought buddy!!!

went home and did some measuring with the DS bolted up and marked the yoke and i think i chopped off 5/8" of an inch.

nonnie, how hard is it to replace and put in a new U joint? Is this something anyone can do or does it have to be done by a driveshaft shop?
