Are you reading your spark plugs, and adjusting fuel & spark according to what the engine tells you it wants? Or are you playing with fire & hoping you don't get burned?

I'm playing with fire... but there is kind of a reason for that.
I was told by a friend, and engineer at sonnax, that in modern transmissions without the engine running you deprive the bearings inside the trans of fluid and its the best way to kill them quickly.
I understand how I can get burned when playing with just a wideband, the upstream O2 sensors, knock sensors, and listening for ping... but its kind of the best I got. And lets be honest they are pretty sweet tools. I'm not exactly going into this blind. A race team from 1970 would have killed for the tools I have at my finger tips with a lap top alone.

Thanks Roger! It's running real strong. And with my tune tweaks to help it off the line (thanks to Pat for the suggestions there) this Yank is really doing awesome. Thanks for pushing me in this direction!
I've attached my log from the first run with an unlocked converter (unfortunately the second run locked did not save) if anyone wants to look at it.
