That was my impression too.

Would I rather an american forged I beam? Yes, any day of the week. It would have cost me 3x what these rods cost me.

I assume these compstars are stronger than what I currently run (stock full floaters in the LQ9) by a wide margin. I see people make plenty of power with them. I am totally open to opinions or suggestions though.

I expect to be on the higher end of that range fairly easily (Get ready for some ricer math!! lol). Call it my weather advantage or whatever you want, but my cam only LQ9 took this nearly 5400# sled to 118.5MPH with the 1900. The calculators I find online land me at the ball park of 700. Some say 695 to the wheels, others say about 720 crank. Either way this basket of go fast goodies is a massive step up in every sense. More cubes (barely... but they're there), far and away better heads, much better and more aggressive cam, higher compression, and a blower that is not only 20% larger, but it can and will be spun a lot faster with some tweaks to make it a more capable/efficient unit than my front drive 1900. I almost don't see how its possible it could only make 150HP more. Also, if need be, a little nitrous would be fun

George, in your experience how much stronger is a rod like the compstar H beam compared to an LS2 stocker?

It was about 45* with 75% humidity and a baro reading of 30.02. DA was about -850.

Very good weather, but believe it or not we get better.

According to drag times:

Stock and Mildly Modified Naturally Aspirated Engines
11.521 @ 117.605 MPH

Extensively Modified Naturally Aspirated Engines
11.502 @ 117.904 MPH

Extensively Modified Supercharged and Turbocharged Engines
11.453 @ 118.403 MPH

Yeah, those are ridiculously good conditions. I'd be curious to see what you would have run a couple weeks ago when I went out to RPR and it was around 100*. Absolutely brutal conditions.

New setup looks good, but I'm curious why you went with TFS heads instead of MAST or AFR. I recently found out TFS heads don't have the thick decks like the others brands I mentioned.

Also, who goes into the 10s first, you or me? Knowing my luck....I'm guessing you

heat is pretty brutal for me. Heat and bad DA has a larger effect on a blower than it does on a turbo. A turbo is not RPM limited, its pressure limited based on your blow off valve. It will only allow for so much pressure in the exhaust therefore limiting the pressure on the cold side. A blower makes as much pressure as it can with the air its grabbing and given RPM. If the air its grabbing is less dense, its moving less volume. Period and end of discussion. A turbo will continue to spool and spin faster in order to achieve its target pressure. I'm sure you experience slower spool times and do in fact make less power, but I would imagine its not nearly as drastic of an effect as with a supercharger.

Why did I go trick flow? Well, for starters I wanted to go square port so that knocked AFR off the list almost immediately. Second, the TFS 255 heads have powdered metal guides which was a big deal to me. bronze guides wear way too fast for my liking. Third, summit had a great deal on them lol. Fourth, who has ever heard someone complain or make bad power with trick flow heads on an LS engine?
what is the deck thickness on the trick flow 255 heads?

And as far as who hits 10's first I have to give you the nod on that one. My engine isnt even built yet lol. I definitely dont expect to run 10's my first time out either.
