I wasn't trying to mock your build Dave just so you know that. You know me and you know I like what you're doing. I thought you had seen this.

Being that that form was cast into the part and it could easily have been cast closer to what you had done it makes me think issues will arise from removing that much material from the runners. It must have been there for more than just emissions no?? Not really too sure how larger runner area would affect emissions? Very curious to how it would run and boost with and without that feature.

You are absolutely correct, that is a patented feature in our manifold. It is necessary for emissions and low speed drive ability. The "HVI", or High Velocity Manifold has been tested to 620 HP then the HP flattens out. The "big port" style manifold like the one Dave created from the HVI will be good to about 1500 HP before it sees issues.

In order for Dave to make the power he was looking to make (beyond 620) he needed to open the manifold up. I do not think low speed driving or emissions is a concern on this build.

Brian may be able to shed some light on this though. I'm not sure why on an off road use only kit they would be like that though. They sure didn't work well on the H2 that Exotic Performance was building
The kit that Bob was using used the STOCK diameter 6 rib balancer and a 3.4 inch blower pulley. Dave is running a custom 7.5 inch 10 rib balancer and a 2.8 inch blower pulley. This will net the desired boost level that he was looking for just fine. We have done the calculations and quite confident in the end results.
