I have a question for you first i was looking on lmc and it looks like the manual column covers are the same as the newer s10s. Does that sound right?
second when you put the shifter on the floor how did you make the cluster change from park to drive or whatever? or is that changed by the ECM?

The PRNDL is activated by a range switch on the side of the transmission. Has nothing to do with the lever on the column.

I currently have BFG Rivals on the truck now. But they will be coming off. They are just too short for the truck. They work well, but I don't want to sacrifice ground clearance/drivability for a sticky tire. Good tires are not cheap especially in a size that works well for a truck. I'm looking at my options now. I don't want to have to go with a more narrow tire, but I might have to. To autocross you need something with 200 Tread wear. Couple that with a size that doesn't look ridiculous on a full-size truck, and the options are severely limited.

Don't worry I didn't forget about this thread. Been very busy with work and home stuff.
A couple updates:
Finally got the transmission back home. It was sitting at a friends shop for the longest time. Still accumulating parts for the swap. Getting closer though.

The BFG Rivals are off the truck and it's sitting on the work out nt05's. Going to be dismounting the BFG's and selling them.

Also started mocking up some new front suspension parts. Blew it all apart again to fab up some plates and mounts for coilovers.

having a plasma table at work made quick work of some of the pieces.

Hopefully this weekend will be a productive one. Going to try and get the CalTracs off and the leaf springs out so I can bring them into work for a few modifications. and get some of the current parts sold to offset the cost of new ones. More coming soon.

Got my front arms on the bench. Cut the spring notches out of the pockets. And got my filler plates ready to weld in along with the coil-over and new sway bar link mounts. I'm going to strip the terrible powder coat on the arms and either re-coat or just paint them. Might make some new bushings for them too.

Also got the rear leafs on the spring tester to check the rates. Why? because I could. My original plan was to 4 link the rear, but I am going to try out a few things with the leaf springs first.

Found a set of rear leafs off of a 2007 Dodge Ram RCSB in an old parts pile at the shop that are pretty close to the dimensions of the Silverado springs.
Might use one of the leafs out of that pack to stiffen up mine.

My springs tested out at 220 lbs and the dodge's were 260lbs. So the additional leaf would add a little bit of rate to the rear. I am going to get the front suspension finished up before I change the rate on the rear.

That's all for now. I was going to have the arms finished up yesterday but they had to shut the power off to our building due to an electrical fire on a near by power pole.
