Also hooked up my boost gauge, turns out I'm running 6-7 psi which now has me worried since the truck is only making 340rwhp right now. If I keep it in 2nd gear I can run it as high as 4700-4900 rpm till it starts to miss and backfire at which point I either let off or the truck goes into REP mode and which point I have to shut it off and start it back up. I'm not using any meth yet but still, I woulda thought it would be alittle higher number wise. The boost gauge isn't sensitive enough to be able to read the variations in boost, it flickers at times but otherwise is pretty settled at 6-7psi.
I also installed a boost controller but got hung up because I didn't have the correct brass fittings to finish the job so that's on tomorrow's list of things to do in addition to pulling the plugs and re-gapping them. It will also give me a chance to see what the tips look like.

And in case anybody missed it....

I don't think the gap is the prob at that boost. I ran stock plugs/stock gap in my LQ4 up to 14psi. Those numbers are completely useless until you get the truck running right. That engine makes that power NA. In the dyno vid you can hear it go flat, and start mixing up way before the end of the pull. Also s 160 T stat will make a huge difference, prob at least 20 or more HP, and help keep it out of detonation. They should have the T stat at Vatozone. How is the ground on the coils them selves?

That's so weird but I just listened to the Dyno vid again and it does go flat. Ok well I'll deal with the things I can deal with at the moment. I'll also pick up a 160 degree T-stat tomorrow while I'm out getting fittings for the boost controller. And what do you mean grounds on the coils?

I don't know but when they are mounted on the engine their case is grounded straight to the vc. I don't know if this matters or not just something to look into. Something is causing the spark to drop. Did you check the coil value in the tune like you thought might be off? Also you could have fryed a boot or burned a wire so bad it's arcing, or dropping voltage. Could also be a bad plug etc.

Dusty sent me a file with 05 coils in it and I swapped out the Decay files from that tune into mine as they were different. Not sure if that helped or hurt but at least I believe to have the right decay tables in them. I'm pretty sure the coils are grounded to the firewall securely but I'll check on that as well.
