So I've been told that the vans rear end won't swap to av Silverado or GMT 800 suv because the rear end is longer. I'd this not the case?

What are you going to run for a trans?

If you go 24X and use a 411 PCM You can use the dash out of the newer 96 up style GMT 400 and have it all work like factory.

Pinion offset is different on a van. You have 1 long axle and 1 short axle. In the Silverado they use 2 of the same size axles.

So how is he able to use that on a Yukon gt? Didn't that have two short axles?

I've priced out going with a factory system and it will run over $2000 for everything and a tune. With that, the Holley system isn't considerably more.

A junkyard harness and computer is not that much money if you went 24x, maybe 150-300 depending on where you live. If you went HP Tuners it's 500-650 and the rest is you wiring it up and having someone tune it. I wouldn't think a tuner would charge you $1,000 to do that.

58x would be more for a E38 from like a 07-09 silverado to run the 4L60e and you'd need a TCM for the transmission running those computers.

And if you bought the holley kit for like near $3,000 mark you'd still need either yourself to learn to tune or pay a shop to do it. I'm also excluding the other various sensors you'd want for tuning, like a wideband.

I won't use a used harness. I've been down that road before doing pinouts and dealing with its a factory harness not originally designed for a vehicle swap. I just don't have that kind of time anymore. I want as much of a plug and play system as possible.

As for my 14 bolt, I pulled it from a 98 2500 van. Both axles are the exact same length and the housing is not offset. The differential had 6 lug axles in it when I found it in the junkyard. There's a picture of the rearend under my Yukon in my original post.

The transmission I'm using is a 4L80E, not a 4l60E.

Back to the harness, if I go factory, I will purchase it from a reputable seller.

I've been looking around and doing more reading about factory and aftermarket PCM's and I've finally decided to go with factory. I've found a reputable company that will make me a brand new harness to my specs and offer a computer with a base tune to my specs.

Now, question is: why do I want to go, say, drive-by-cable over drive-by-wire or viceaversa? My crank already has the 58x wheel on it. What if I decide to sell this truck one day? I would like to keep the motor and put it in something else, so I don't limit myself.

If you are worried about limiting yourself in the future, go holley efi...or fuel tech or whatever it is.....
