meh, sounds like a bad idea to me, use the shocks to tell the suspension what to do instead of putting a stop in there so you have no suspension.

I just bought new shocks and the problem seems to be they arent stiff enough....this mod will only cost a few dollars opposed to buying more expensive shocks.

Your going to hit the bump stops and unload the tires...

Get an adjustable shock that you can dial in.

Something else just came to mind.

What about and "add a leaf" to stiffen it up???

Like an over load spring for added weight... rides like normal till you put more weight as the spring collapses it spreads the weight over the added spring and stiffens it.

I would think this would be as bad or worse then a bump stop. It is a spring you will be hitting so it will bounce the rear end off of the overload spring and cause all sorts of weight shifts.

Good thing the turbo didn't suck that air filter into it's self! Had any of the mesh or screen came loose the turbo would probably be a pile of junk right now.

Your adding to the spring pack, not hitting a spring.
It would there for make it stiffer.

Hitting a bump stop would shock it and unload the tires.

I think it would only unload the tires if it were to make frame bounce off the axle. As it sits now the overload bumpers are basically lightly touching the axle anyway.

I see, you are talking about simply adding a leaf. Most "add a leafs" are spaced from the stock pack a short distance so they don't effect the stock ride.

The best solution is going to be shocks, one of the few other ideas that have been discussed may be a solution and possibly save the money of buying adjustable shocks. With they money you have in the rest of the truck why skimp now? I realize if you swap the newer bump stops and it works great but anything else after that seems foolish. You haven't pulled out any stops on the build so far why half *** what allows it to put the power down?
