So... cliff notes:

last Sunday those bolts left the chat at a steady 70 mph. No idea why, never had converter bolts do that. Yesterday, decided to swap in that B&M 3400-3800 RPM stall that I bought a decade ago. I like the fact that it uses 6 bolts instead of 3 like my last 2 converters.

So far, good. Defintely feel the difference even normal driving. I went 1.81 60ft on the FTI in March, I definitely have a 1.7x in it this fall.

The bolts in my FTI came loose several times and elongated the flex plate. Seems like a common complaint.

Did not know that, maybe I need to extract the broken bolts and list it on marketplace. Other than the mishap, it's been a decent converter.

I hurt the rear back in November. Installed a new posi and bearings. SOB howls and whines bad above 45 MPH. Anything 60 MPH and above the vibration is terrible. I don't feel like the clearances in the gear set should have changed so drastically. I've been babying it to and from work. Bought another complete set of bearings and races. Going to pull it apart again, recheck EVERYTHING and install all new bearings again.

Talk about a thorn in my side...

But, did you measure the clearance before and after?

The gears are probably trashed now.

I did not, was in a rush to get it back in the road. Cheap, Richmond Excels that I've never been happy with from day 1. I should order a set of gears too, been pondering that.
