Just picked up this FTI 3200 stall, it's meant for 4000+ lb vehicles. The B&M - unsure how it will work out. Too loose? Might not work out in such a heavy vehicle.
Careful with that FTI converter. I’ve had multiple problems and I’m switching to a Circle D converter now. I’m starting to think it is why I’ve had so many problems with my 6l80.

I hope not, but I have a friend with a shop that had two in a row fail on him in customer vehicles.
Time to feed this thing some corn whiskey. I wish my tuning skills were more advanced, likely will have to farm it out to someone skilled. Not sure how much it will pick up, but I'm willing to give it a shot.
So... the weather pretty much sucks right now. Feels like summer showed up 5-6 weeks early. I'm basically going to be installing and refining things until it cools down again.
Right now, the list is:
Flex fuel, still need to install the components. I'm working with a tuner in another state, he has set me up with a good tune file - merged my current tune with a FF compatible file. I'll send him some data logs once I get everything installed and wired up.
MSD 2 step, I feel like it will help my launches be more consistent. I'm thinking of doing some bracket racing with the truck this fall. It's pretty consistent now, I'd just like every advantage.
34" core radiator and 05+ fans, my 28" core and F Body fans just aren't keeping up in this heat. Plus, not really crazy about the aftermarket harness/relays. I'm going to factory wiring from a donor vehicle.
C notch, it's lowered 4" in the rear and I never notched it. I was towing with the truck and just threw a set of helper bags on it to keep it from hitting. When I do the notch, I am going to ditch the helper bags and overload springs.
I need to get the suspension to work better, it's fine on a prepped track. But trash on a bare street, which is silly at the lack of power level it's at now. Here's a few 1/8 mile hits done with the dragy
It's .3 slower at the 60ft and 1/8 on the street. The drag radials were on it, pretty much had it the same as I how run it at the track - minus I was closed exhaust on the street VS uncapped at the track. I don't think it should have that much trouble hooking on the street.
I'll be waiting for another long weekend to do the C notch and remove the helper bags + factory overload leafs. The rest of the parts, I'll just squeeze in when I can. I'm trying to finish up the last customer job, then not taking any more work this year. It's a 72 GMC Jimmy 2WD with a 5.3L/80E and Holley EFI.
Not much new to report, got the Viking shocks installed a few weeks ago. Also pulled the front sway bar at the same time. Rides way smoother now. Some people frown on removing the sway bar, it's something I do to pretty much anything I own. I don't mind it, drives just fine to me.
Not much more is going to get done unfortunately. I was injured at work (broken tendon in my thumb), dealing with workman's comp and doctor's appointments currently. At the current rate, I'm 10-12 weeks away from being cleared. It's a major bummer, but it is what it is.
