Be careful with the dremel on that block! You can easily screw it up for good. Remember that the dowel pins are there to make sure everything is centered perfectly to the crank. I have seen where pumps can be damaged from a misalignment issue. Just my two cents. I think the pins you got are for a race car when a mid plate is used. Vince

But this IS a race car!!! You mean to tell me those dowel pins won't make me faster??
And, yeah I didn't do too much with the dremel, I realized the amount of material that I would have to take out would of been counter productive! I just gave it a quick once over to see if I could remove any burrs or metal slivers that might of been in there but in the end it was a fruitless endevor and would of made a bigger mess of things.

AND THANK YOU FLT FOR THE PRESENT TODAY!!

Thanks to you and Andy for overnighting the dowel pins, they got here at around noon and I got right to work and today was one of those days where things just went right....except for my busted nose!!
More on that later!!

If u don't like those 2 ideas, epoxy inj. to manifold.
Your first idea was ok...the rest of them sucked!!!
Last night I registered and posted a thread on their forum (yeah they have a forum just for their stuff) and nobody has replied to it at all. I did call their tech support today and the guy I spoke to actually was like...are you the guy that posted that thread?? And I'm thinking "those **** suckers actually saw that thread and not a damn techie bothered to reply to it!!" Anyways, he told me that those fuel rails aren't meant for RC Racing injectors because these injectors are wider than theirs or most other people's injectors. So there ya go, that was my problem!
Why make a product that only works with a limited number of corresponding parts?

Thanks man!! Should be fun for a little while! It's not gonna be a show truck since that's not my thing but I will add a few cosmetic things here and there to make it look a little sharper, but that won't be for a while.

They screened my call, apparently I call to often as it is and they are tired of talking to me!!
This is fun and entertaining for me too!! Just wish days like yesterday happen a little less! Although I've never done one of these on my own I've done a couple with friends and have worked on heavy machinery for the last 10 years off and on so it's just a matter of losing my virginity!

I hope your bad luck starts turning around... I would hate to see round two of your last project, in all respect. I went to bat for you a few times, hate to see this build go that route, but i gots your back homie if it does!!!!

Aight so...like I said FLT overnighted me some Dowel pins which was awesome. I figured I get them at the end of the day but they got here at around noonish so I went right to work!!
Out came the stupid "racing dowels" that were supposed to make me faster... and in went the shorter stock ones. So here's where the one and only shitty part of the day happened. I had to move the tranny back about six to eight inches to get some room to tap the dowel pins into the block and to do so I had to take the studs out of the tranny mount so the tranny could move aft. So I jack up the front of the tranny (mind you I have a $20 cheapo 3-ton Pep-boys floor jack that has a tiny tiny lifting pad) and slide her on back, tap home the new dowel pins and get back under the tranny to slide her forward. Anyways right at the worst possible moment (I'm under the tranny shoving it forward) the floor jack which is the only thing holding up the front end of the transmission decides to meet it's maker!!
Luckily my face was just in the right location to prevent the tranny (bottom of the bellhousing and the converter) from hitting the floor!! After we kissed, and my face helped stop the tranny from moving downwards any further, it started to slide forward and eventually butted up against the flexplate. If the flexplate wasn't there to stop the tailshaft from sliding off the crossmember my head would of acted as a woopie cushion to the trannies eventual rendezvous with the floor!
I also partially dislocated my left shoulder lifting the transmission off of me while wedging some wood blocks under it so it wouldn't fall to the floor.
So anyways, I got out from under the transmission and thought about kicking the **** out of the floorjack but then I woulda had a broken foot!
Regardless, I used the truck's jack which was under the truck for some odd *** reason(the one for changing flat tires) and got the tranny back horizantal, shoved it forward and it slid up against the dowel pins and engine like a champ, bolted the ****** in and got out from under the truck. Other than my fucked up shoulder, messed up nose (not broken) and some face burn I felt pretty good about getting the tranny on!!

I only got 6 bolts in on the bellhousing however, there was one bolt hole that doesn't line up, that sound right to you guys? It's the bolt hole at the one o'clock position if your looking at the engine from the back.
Anyways, Put some loc-tite on all the bolts and torqued them down to 37ft/lbs I think it was, and double checked for the umpteenth time that nothing was binding or mis-aligned.
