As far as the Quickfuel is concerned, I've read some bad things about them for sure, but also lots of praise. I think, like anything else, if you're will the spend the time/money to make it right, then it will be great. This will be my first vehicle I've ever own with a carb. Luckily two of my best friends are very good with carbs and have tuned many of them, some dirt track stuff and lots of drag racing stuff.

Hi I'm Steve and I have a 2006 GMC Sierra that I took the 4.3 out a replaced it with a 410 stroked LS Carbed. Originally had a quick fuel and even tho I'm sure their a quallity carb the one I had sucked eggs. Ran really rich and changing jets,power valves and doing all the proper adjustments could not get it to lean out. It cost me my first engine. Now I have a 6.0 built by LME in Houston,Tx. It has a Pro Systems 850 on it good for 600 horse. Have ended up taking it off the street as it was my daily driver. All I did for carb linkage was the Lokar and it hooked right to my pedal and to the carb. Just had to shorten it a bit. Not using any of the PCM. Using only the MSD 6LS it is real easy to program timimg and all.
I have removed sway bar all interior and replaced the seat with a jegs race seat. Have a roll bar and a lexan back window. All guages are Autometer. Radio was removed to make a spot for switches. Have a Aeromotive fuel pump A1000. and 3 regulators 1 to carb 1 to fuel side of nos and 1 for return. The stock fuel pump in tank is to much pressure for carb and I was told that there wasn't a regulator that could go from 65 70 lbs down to 7 lbs. So i opted to go this route. I know there probably some one out there that has a different way to go. This is the way I chose.
I have a TCI turbo 350 trans. Have a Edelbrock progressive controller for the Nos and haven't been able to use it in full yet. My limited slip rearend isn't enough to get both sides hooking up. Ran 11.80's @113 on motor. After we install spool and readjust Cal-Tracs that should help. Am looking at 11.50's on motor, who knows where a 100 shot will take me. Am planning on 250 Max
I'm sure your build will really be a lot of fun and fast. I din't do the wiring as I'm not good at that.A friend did it. I know the whole harness off the computer is cut. Good luck. Carbs are good on a LS and I'll put mine up against EFI any time.

I used the stock fuel pump when running my carb'd 383. I used an aeromotive pressure regulator and it worked flawless for two years. It cut the pressure down to 8psi no problem. I worried about it giving me problems in the beginning, but it never did. If you want the part number, i could go look out back at work for you.

I'm real excited for April to get here. Want to get back to the track. One of the guys on here sugested that I was probably shifting out of the power curve. He said when he shifted at 6400 he turned 11.9's. When he shifted at 6145 he turned 11.40's. He's got a 402 EFI with 4.10's. I've got 410 with 4.10's. So I figured I should be able to get at leased 11.50's. Then with 100 shot probably 10.80's. And if I can keep it from spinning the next 100 shot should put me in the 10.30's. I hope. that would be great. We'll see. I've only got 317 heads and can't afford the heads I want at this time. Eventually I'll have L92's and a Victor Jr.
Was going to take out the core support until I found out it is alum. and so left it. No Ac stuff and no exhaust. The interior is all out,door panels ,head-
liner,etc. Thought about changing to 5 lug, but you would have to use a spacer because of the calipers, I think. Unless theres a different caliper we can use. Have got a 5 gal fuel cell and am dropping out the main tank. Located it against the front of the bed just above the fuel pump. Am moving battery to the rear. Putting my MSD in the cab on the hump in front of the shifter. Will eventually put a fuse box in the cab also.
Still don't know where to mount my linelock. Wanted to put it close enough to the mastercylinder so I wouldn't have to do to much plumbing. Have any ideas. Well have to get ready to go to Ames, Ia. Will be back tomorrow about 5 pm for the weekend.

Intresting approach.
I was reading in a different part of the forum That our site sponser caledditor was saying that some of the vans retained The Fuel intection but had a cable actuated throtle body in the later years. You could re-wire for the cable TB and flash in the operating system. I was thinking about trying that apporach on my 05 to eleiminate the electronics between the pedal and TB.

Im thinking of rewiring my 06 truck harness to work with a cable tb.
