Danny, I still have my factorty pcm in mine, just took out the few wiresw i needed from the harness, like alternator, oil sender, etc out and tucked the rest behind the fuse box and made a cover to keep it clean, everything works fine with it except the battery light stays on and naturally the engine light lol, dont get too complicated to be simple lol

I saw that you posted on a old thread about this and thought I reply here. There is no issue's besides engine light and some gauges, for me I was really concerned about AC not working on NNBS but I'll piggyback my stock system so am good.

That's all I'm really worried about as well. I don't have to worry about the gauges since I have the Racepak. So you completely removed your factory pcm?

No not really I am still keeping it but taking all the control off it, basically it be a dummy so that BCM thinks that everything is fine.

I feel like I'm over thinking this whole thing...And it's pissing me off and making my head hurt. I don't need my pcm for anything. I have a Racepak that tells me mph, volts, ect, oil pressure etc...It doesn't control the tranny because its a MVB. I'm putting a carb on this thing, so it's not controlling any fueling. I have an MSD 6010 ignition so it's not it's not being used for any timing or anything like that. Basically, the bcm is being left to control lights, radio and A/C controls.

My thinking is, and I know a guy who did the same with a 99-02 truck, is that i could remove the entire pcm and harness and not have any worries since it doesn't control the lights, the radio, the power windows/locks, the heat/ac etc...Worst case scenario I have to figure out which wire off the key is crank and wire it directly to the starter???

If I remember right, the wire to the starter comes from the fuse box. So you can easily run a wire directly to the starter. I put a push button starter in my truck and ran a direct wire. There are wires in the harness that go to the A/C compressor and A/C lines that the computer monitor and control. But you can add a rocker switch to control when the compressor comes on and off.
