When is thing going to be done? I had heard of dates much sooner! I guess shooting for sometime in 08 would be a good goal. J/K Looks good and I'm sure you will be happy when it's finally done. Also because you did alot of it yourself you will really appreciate it more. Good luck with the final results Devin. Vince

VHT sells a clear coat that looks really sweet and will "seal" in what ever finish you currently have. Most people that paint their blocks use the clear too.

Regular enamel PN VHT-SP145
Polyurethane enamel PN VHT-SP29

Not sure which one you want to use.

How are you keeping the black paint dust from getting on everything. When I painted my block that crap drifted everywhere, it didnt stick but it left a sort of paint "dust" on alot of stuff.

common practice is to wet the floor before you paint, you can make a pretty decent paint booth with plastic sheeting, a wet floor, and a home box fan pulling air from inside.

I didn't do any of that, just prepped and painted, came out pretty good the first time so I didn't mess with it........

looks like we have a winner!, Crank Damper Issue's are solved now

the problem:

Stock damper bolt is approx 100mm long

Replacement bolt for Innovators West damper for a vette application (what I have) 130mm long; What I actually need is a bolt 180mm long! doh!

stock bolt, 130mm bolt vette guys use with Innovators West Damper, 180mm Bolt needed for Innovators West Damper (truck application)

machined nylon to hold crank keyway in place when bolt is tightened (sandwiched), this is the correct length for vette applications, I'll need a different length for my truck application........
