The fires that are close to us seem to be under control now that the wind has died down. I have ashes falling over the place here at my house and the smoke it setting right on us, it smells like a camp fire! If anyone else needs any help please feel free to give me a yell.

Glad to see your safe so far Joe. We have a new flare up about a mile west of us right now. Lots of aircraft in the sky. All the helicopters sounds like Vietman around here. Some passing a hundred feet over the roof of the house.
Gonna get on horseback in a couple of hours from now and recon the area. The news is reporting about 32 homes destroyed a couple of miles east of us.
I hope Grippy's house survived............

Stay safe and keep us posted. The mandatory evacuation for Grippy's house was lifted and from what I see on the news his house should be okay. These fires just keep jumping all over the place.

This has been one of the most inpredictable fire seasons I can ever remember.
I'm praying Grippy's house survives. Tonight should tell the tale.
