I oiled both spun them and oiled them again...the polished side still spins twice as many times. I even used the slo-mo on the phone to count the spins. Now I dunno if it'll matter once installed since they just rock back and forth but it certainly can't hurt.

Since not everyone likes polished stuff I sandblasted the oil pump housing, cover, and gears...only thing is they don't turn so well now

Thats one part I would have left alone...oil pump failure means engine rebuild.
