Today was a day of putting what I have where it belongs and knocking off a couple things that don't need to be around..

I put the water pump on, cut down the alternator bracket, put the tensioner on, and put the alternator on.
Now all I have left to do is put the gaskets that go between the water pump and the motor plate on when they come in.
Also took the driveshaft out of the truck and realized what was causing the awful grinding noise under the truck when I would drive at steady speeds...
the front part of the original driveshaft was in a carrier bearing and apparently it came apart.
Because the driveshaft was NOT where it was supposed to be..
Ruined my brand new Moroso 1350 Ujoint caps also...
Cutting the alternator bracket down was an absolute bitch of a job.
Gave me blisters from using the sawzall, it pulled the skin off because it kept getting hung up...
I will live.
Good part is the Strange pinion is undamaged.

New valley cover arrived today. unfortunately it was AFTER I had already gotten back out on the road.
So I will have more parts on hand for getting the engine completed a bit more when I return.
I still haven't tried the used starter out to see if it works or not.

Just ordered a new harmonic balancer for the engine.
Don't like the looks of the old one.
Just cause it looks, well, OLD!!

Well ****. Mom got home and checked the lifter valley cover plate to discover that the corner was bent and the new gasket was broken.

Contacted the shipper. No clue how that is gonna work out.

Been a LONG while sing I posted. I traded the truck off last year in October. First new owner did the body work to it and got it in primer. He wound up in financial trouble and sold it to a new owner who took the engine and transmission and put them into a 75 Camaro. The transmission has been gone thru 2 times since he got it, this most recent time was because he burnt the transmission up. The car is an original steel frame car running 7.50 1/8th on both a powerglide and a th350. He is totally happy with it and I suggested a few changes to it. But now that they are using a TH350 the guy driving cant seem to stay off the rev limiter. He chucked a belt Sunday and it overheated on him. I haven't heard back from him if it did any damage or not. I know I had the limiter set at 6900 to avoid over revving the engine. Got the car running strong and hard and they keep tearing stuff up... I might need to turn it down just a tad, LOL

I am on to a new project, which I will be posting about in just a bit.
